These amasing creatures grow up to 10cm long. Usually bright green all over the body, but can change to greenish brown, and may have white spots on their backs.

HOUSING: Tall vavaria are required for most treefrogs and whites are no exeption. A vivarium mesuring 60x 45x 30cm (24x 18x 12inch) and filled with robust branches, plants and furnishings is ideal for one or two adults. A substrate of moss and bark chips, stones and pebbles is recomended. A large bowl of water should be offered and daily mist spraying is benifical. however, make sure there is a reasonable amount of ventelation to prevent exess dampness. keep the temperature between 25-30 degrees celcious during the day and reduce slightly at night. If you plan to keep more than one tree frog, make sure that individuals are of the same size to prevent cannibalism.

FEEDING: Luckily green tree frogs are not the pickiest eaters. Feed yours about 2 or 3 small to medium sized crickets every other day or so per frog. If you wait four days to feed them double the amount you would have usually fed them. Mealworms are another source of food for tree frogs. If you use mealworms I suggest you put a dish in the terrarium to put the mealworms in so they don't just burrow away. With eaither of the two food sources mentoined above I would dust the food every other feeding or so. You don't have to do this but it will make your green tree frogs healthier. Following this care your frog should have a long lives life.

Some frogs need to hibernate during the winter, while others do not. For this and many other reasons, it's best to research the particular frog species you are interested in before acquiring it as a pet. This way you will at least know what to expect, and can prepare for it. Some frogs for example can grow quite large and have a large appetite to match.

Frogs also have interesting defenses, to prevent them from being eaten. From being poisonous to bloating up their body, their ability to jump a great distance can sometimes be the difference between life of death in their natural environment.
|
You should be aware that most frogs don't actually move around allot. And although they can be petted, it is not recommenced as the oils in our skin can irritate them. In fact your hands should be clean (no soaps) and wet whenever you handle frogs. If you are after an active or interactive pet then frogs probably aren't for you. In any case, they are generally very colourful and interesting to look at, and make a fantastic low maintenance pet.
